SECURE-CS Multiplier Event
The SECURE-CS Multiplier Event brought together 60+ participants in Istanbul on 10 June 2026 to share the project journey, present its intellectual outputs, and demonstrate the Civil Society Security platform developed for safer digital practices in civil society.
On 10 June 2026, the SECURE-CS project held its Multiplier Event in Istanbul with the participation of more than 60 people, bringing together young people, civil society representatives, educators, and local stakeholders around one shared question: how can civil society organizations become more secure, resilient, and aware in the digital environment?
The event was organized as part of the project “Civil Society Initiatives Strengthened with Information and Data Security”, which focuses on improving the digital security capacity of civil society organizations and supporting them with practical tools, learning materials, and awareness-raising activities.

Throughout the event, participants were introduced to the overall journey of the SECURE-CS project, including its needs analysis, development process, international cooperation structure, training activities, and dissemination work. The session also created space to explain why digital security has become an essential issue for civil society organizations, especially in relation to data protection, website security, institutional credibility, and safe digital communication.
A central part of the event was the presentation of the project’s intellectual outputs. Participants explored the project platform, learning materials, practical guidance content, and the website security assessment tool developed under SECURE-CS. The Civil Society Security platform was demonstrated live, allowing participants to better understand how civil society organizations can check their websites, identify basic technical risks, and receive structured security feedback.
“Digital security is no longer a technical detail for civil society organizations; it is a core condition for trust, sustainability, and institutional resilience.”
The platform demonstration attracted strong interest from participants. During the session, different examples were reviewed, and the importance of SSL/TLS certificates, DNS and e-mail security, HTTP security headers, domain reputation, port exposure, and basic injection risk signals was explained in an accessible way. This helped participants connect technical security concepts with real institutional risks faced by NGOs, associations, foundations, and youth organizations.
The event also served as a dissemination space for the broader SECURE-CS methodology. Participants discussed how digital transformation affects civil society work and how organizations can improve their internal awareness, staff readiness, and responsible data management practices. The interactive format allowed the audience to ask questions, share observations, and reflect on their own digital security needs.
With more than 60 participants, the Multiplier Event made an important contribution to the visibility, sustainability, and practical use of the SECURE-CS project results. The event supported the wider dissemination of the project’s outputs and strengthened local awareness around digital security as a shared responsibility for civil society.
