SECURE-CS LTT-1 Successfully Held at SETA İstanbul
The first Learning, Teaching and Training activity of the SECURE-CS project, “Civil Society Initiatives Strengthened with Information and Data Security,” was successfully held at SETA İstanbul between 25–29 March 2025.
Organized as part of the Erasmus+ KA220 project, the five-day programme brought together project partners and participants from Azerbaijan, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Norway, Belgium, and Türkiye. The activity focused on strengthening digital security awareness, improving practical cybersecurity knowledge, and supporting safer online practices for civil society actors.

The first day introduced participants to the foundations of digital security. Through an interactive social engineering simulation, participants explored the risks of sharing too much personal information online. The session also covered the CIA Triad, common cyber threats, password security, information security, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
On the second day, the programme focused on data privacy in cybersecurity. Participants reviewed legal and ethical dimensions of personal data protection, including KVKK and GDPR. The simulation game Data Detective helped participants identify privacy risks through realistic examples and group-based analysis.
“Digital security becomes meaningful when participants can connect technical concepts with real-life risks, practical tools, and responsible online behavior.”
The third day was dedicated to safe internet and social media use. Participants examined everyday online habits, fake accounts, phishing links, misinformation, and risky digital behavior. The interactive game Catch the Phishing! allowed participants to test their awareness in a practical and engaging format.
The fourth day focused on secure communication and digital tools. Participants worked on secure e-mail use, password protection, encryption basics, and trusted messaging applications such as Signal and Telegram. The day ended with a hands-on workshop and the team-based activity Encrypt My Message!, turning technical concepts into practical learning.
On the final day, participants took part in a cybersecurity simulation focused on crisis management and anti-disinformation practices. The closing session included reflection, feedback, and certificate delivery, marking the completion of a dynamic week of learning and collaboration.
