International Protection Standards and HUMAID Scope

The "Do No Harm" principle is essential in the activities within ANKA. This policy legally guarantees the protection of children, youth, and disadvantaged adults in crisis zones from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation internationally.

Preventıve Measures and Fıeld Rules

  • Zero Tolerance Principle (PSEAH): The rules for the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment are strictly implemented in all our activities.
  • Rule of Two: In studies conducted with participants under the age of 18, no staff member can be left alone behind closed doors.
  • Background Checks: All personnel to be assigned to humanitarian aid operations must pass a legal criminal record check.
  • Risk Mapping: A 4-stage Risk Assessment Matrix (RAM) is created prior to each project.

Protection of Personal Data and GDPR Compliance

ANKA, in its capacity as Data Controller, processes the personal data of participants and staff in full compliance with the KVKK Law No. 6698 and European Union GDPR provisions.

Data Management and Partıcıpant Rıghts

  • Data Minimization: Only data mandatory for the management of project grants and legal reporting are processed.
  • Retention Period: In accordance with Erasmus+ rules, documents are kept for 5 (five) years, and then irreversibly destroyed.
  • 72-Hour Rule: In the event of a possible data breach, notification is made to the supervisory authorities and individuals within 72 hours at the latest.
  • Right to be Forgotten: Participants have the right to request the deletion of their data outside the legal retention periods.

ESC Charter and Ethical Principles of Conduct

Every individual involved in ANKA projects must comply with the principles of solidarity, respect for human dignity and justice that form the basis of the European Solidarity Corps Charter.

Bındıng Ethıcal Standards

  • Zero Tolerance: Strict sanctions are applied against discrimination, bullying and hate speech.
  • Alcohol/Substance: The use of alcohol/substance during activity hours and in project areas is cause for termination of the contract.
  • Professional Boundaries: Our members refrain from attitudes that create a power imbalance in their relationships with participants.
  • Compliance with Local Laws: Participants fully comply with the cultural norms and laws of the host country.
Complaints

Complaınts Mechanısm

Transparent Feedback and Official Resolution Process

Our institution operates a system compliant with Directive EU 2019/1937, where participants can report violations or mobbing cases without fear of retaliation.

SLA Duratıons and Complaınt Steps

  • 48 Hours: The initial formal confirmation period stating that the application has been received.
  • 14 Business Days: The upper limit required for the Board of Directors to examine and decide on the issue.
  • Confidentiality: The identity of the complainant is kept anonymous and protected throughout the process.
  • Escalation: In the event that the resolution is insufficient, there is the right to apply directly to the National Agency.
